Developing a Model for Sustainable Organic Fruit and Vegetable Micro Farming
"We are passionate about agronomy and we strive to share our knowledge, methods and product development with others with the goal
of creating a critical mass movement for the development of self sustaining micro farms across the nation and planet."
Meet the Ozolins
Agronomy at its finest!
Meet Karl, Chelsea, Harper & Nash Ozolin. We are small micro farmers with a love for agronomy and have big ideas and goals to help save our planet. Our mission, to build a self-sustaining micro farm as model for future generations of micro farming.
Here at Hood River Micro Farm LLC, we believe in the importance of providing fresh healthy produce for our family while working to create a cleaner healthier planet. We are interested in helping promote teaching regarding biomimicry strategies and agroecology principles for improving soil function on a national and global scale.
Our micro farm is family owned and operated by us!
We are agronomists and would like to share what are strategies for promoting healthy soil and farm development through a progressive agronomy model.

Yes! It is true that self-sustaining micro farms are the future, but why is that? Well, many current farming methods and models are focused on one crop production which involves spraying chemicals to control pests versus finding methods to deploy things sucha as tiny game hunters (see Tiny Game Hunting, by Hilary Dole Klein & Adrian M. Wenner) to do this work. So where does that leave us and how can a farmer be successful without destroying soil and the billions of organisms within? On a very basic level, the more eclectic and diverse of crops grown on a farm, or for that matter on micro-farms, will ultimately dictate the health of one’s farm. However, simplifying this is not so simple and that is where understanding Agronomy at its finest!™ comes into play.
